My wonderful wife Claudia is here for a week. We had a great day today. This evening we attended a dinner party for some of the new candidates coming up for the election this year in our county and some of the other counties around us. Dems were invited but none showed up. Scared I guess... This is my first year to be able to vote in NC so getting registered...never miss a vote if I can help it. We also have some state wide elections this year and hope to defeat all of the Dems running...especially the senate candidates. Claudia had a combo dinner of white fish and shrimp. I had deep fried catfish which is difficult to get here...so seldom have it. I also had some fries of which I did not eat many. And some hush puppies of which I ate way too many...with butter. Not healthy but good... I have learned how to cook fish at home... kinda messy but good. I usually use talapia instead of catfish as I can buy frozen packs of talapia much cheaper than catfish and little difference in taste. Claudia is doing a lot of job hunting here and hopefully will find a decent paying job here soon. We have been separated too long for too many years what with her job and my traveling jobs over the years. I would guess in all of our years of marriage we have only been together half of the time. Our 16th wedding anniversary is coming up on the first day of spring. The first day of spring is a new beginning which is why we chose that day to get married in St. Lucia. There have been ups and downs but we have made it through all of it. Looking forward to the 20th then the 25th. Would love to see the 30th but that might be pushing it since I am so much older than her and I might be a bumbling old fool by then. But then again she is a nurse so she good keep me alive forever :). Love is good...especially with the right partner.
