#MyFavoriteToledoThings Day #3: If you havent heard the name Dani Herrera yet, I think its time you should. Toledo is known for many things that is uniquely ours-- The Toledo Mud Hens, Tony Packos, Jeep Wrangler, Carty Finkbeiner etc. There is a new batch of talented people and ideas, that if we supported them... could be another proud claim for our city. Dani Herrara re-purposes paper, denim, lint, newspapers or whatever inspires her to reimagine some the most iconic images in our landscape. Her Paper Denim Art is unbelievable, eye-catching and made entirely in Toledo. Like most artists and Toledoans: Dani is too humble, too proud to properly identify her arts value. Her humility adds a layer of beauty to every piece she finishes. Most of her work takes numerous days, if not weeks to complete... and she feels guilty charging a $100 for it. Its absurd, but its why Dani is special and is one of my Favorites. So for My Favorite Toledo Things Day #3, Ive decided to share the available art for sale by Point Places own Dani Herrara. ***Each Picture listed in the Gallery Below is available for purchase with the exception of one... the Frosty Magician which I bought last week at the Sylvania Art Trail (For $55) She also has original pieces on the walls at The Local and other businesses around town. If your place has Danis art. OR if you own personally own an original Dani piece-- take a picture and post it below. My Christmas Wish for her is that she sells every original piece currently on sale or featured here.
