We believed that foreign direct investment can help increasing GDP, per capital GDP, creating employment opportunities, narrowing investment and saving gaps, enhancing living standard of citizens. We, Myanmar peoples have a great expectations with your international MNCs which will bring both investment and technology. You all commitments for CSR ( Coporate Social Responsible ) is also really impressive and appreciate on behalf of all Myanmar peoples. Today, in press conferences, we sincerely want to high light the real situations happening in Myanmar about the construction of telecommunication tower. Although the policies, visions, missions, values of ooredoo and Telenor are really good and impressive for Myanmar Peoples, some groups of companies come along with your two MNCs are having a lot of problems and misunderstandings with Myanmar citizens and local contractors. We like to suggest to your associate companies and foreingn workers to learn more about Myanmars, cultures, values, attitudes, nature and living styles before they enter to Myanmar. Otherwise they will have misunderstanding and might not be able to sympathize to localities. Basically Myanmar peoples are hospitable and very easy to get acquaintance with foreigners and ready to help them. Myanmar as a third world developing country and would not have fully law enforcement in every sectors. So, foreign firms should not take advantages on weak points of local contractors. They have already had international experiences with multinational corporations and known international practices very well. They should control and retain their ethics. If they are breaching and neglecting even on their one sided contracts any longer, the total project implementation will be greatly effective all over the country. We would like to strongly suggest to review on the behaviours and practices of your associate companies that are synchronized with your preliminary commitment in MIC or not ?. To be able to verify the real situations happening in Myanmar, we have just collected and submitted relevant documents and real stories of sufferings of Myanmar Contractors and low waged workers. Our purposes of forming MTCA as a civil society is to help to foreign firms and foreign workers by providing updated real situations to Telenor, Ooredoo and regulatory authorities.
