Myanmar will build a high-speed internet cable network in time for the upcoming 27th South East Asia Games in December this year. The fibre-optic cable network is expected to carry up to 30 Gigabytes per second of data transmission and will connect Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw where the games will be held. The government has already signed an agreement with three Japanese companies; Sumitomo, NEC and NTT to build the network.
