Mycena leaiana is the second most often recorded Mycena in the northeast (M. haematopus is the first.) This easily recognized small, clustered, orange mushroom on wood, with orange gills and RED gill edges, is both stunning to see and conspicuous in our woodlands. BUT, we have NO records of it occurring in New York City parks and woodlands. Am I mistaken? I hope so. If you are seeing this in NYC, please let us know......
