Mylo got a cut in one of the pads on his right front paw. I phoned the vet and was advised to just wash it well, make sure its dry, then put unpasteurized honey on it and cover it with a breathable covering. If he goes outside put plastic over it so it doesnt get wet. And dont let him lick it. Right... After doing this every night for a while, Ive discovered a few things. Mylo really really likes honey. He thinks that if your face is near his face that you want to be kissed (well, I knew that before). I really need to tie my hair back before attempting this. Mylo knows how to untie a bow. Ziplock bags dont last more than 1 minute on a walk with Mylo (as he takes off after another deer)... Weve got honey on the floor, honey on Mylos coat, honey everywhere... but when its all said and done, theres probably not much on his paw, and theres not a speck of it on my hands. But I think his paw is actually getting better anyway. Sweet!
