Média And Public Advisory EASTERN CAPE PREMIER PHUMULO MASUALLE EXTENDS MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCES TO THE MOERANE AND MBEKI FAMILIES ON THE PASSING OF MA EPAINETTE NOMAKA MBEKI Bhisho: Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle has today, Saturday, 07 June 2014 learnt with shock and sadness of the passing of mama Nomaka Epainette Mbeki during the early hours of this morning at St Dominics Hospital in East London. On behalf of the people as well as the Government of the Eastern Cape; let me extend our deepest condolences to both the Moerane and the Mbeki families during this tragic time of Bereavement ,especially to former President Thabo Mbeki and his brother Moeletsi as well as the entire extended family said Masualle. I have been in contact with the ANC Secretary General here at the NEC on the matter, have requested to be excused to be with the family and will catch the next available flight continued Masualle. Premier Masualle has also instructed those of his MECs who are nearby Ngcingwane in Idutywa to proceed to the family homestead to provide support to the Family during this time of Bereavement. The Premier was planning to pay a visit to the 98 year old Ma Mbeki this afternoon and will now upon landing in East London proceed to the Homestead in Ngcingwane village, e Dutywa. Our thoughts and Prayers are with the family as they mourn the loss of their dear Mother who was not only a Mother to them, but also a Mother to the Nation and the people of the Eastern Cape,We have lost a revolutionary and a dear leader of our people.Masualle said.
