NAS Key West is Looking for an Ombudsman! Are you a military spouse looking to share your knowledge and experience? Are you looking for a fulfilling volunteer opportunity? If so, apply to be the Naval Air Station Key West Ombudsman. An Ombudsman is a command appointed volunteer (always a spouse of an Active Duty service member) who acts as the liaison between the command and the families. As most spouses know, important information does not always get passed down from sailor to family. The Ombudsman helps bridge this gap. Applicants to the position generally have experience in Navy life and a basic understanding of helpful resources. Candidates must have the time, dedication and commitment to be an Ombudsman. If a spouse calls with a problem or concern, the Ombudsman assists by referring them to the appropriate place. The Ombudsman is aware of the resources available on base and in the local area. Ombudsman Training will be provided. Interested command spouses are invited to apply for the position by submitting a resume and/or letter about yourself and reasons for wanting to be the next NAS Key West Ombudsman.
