NASARAWA GOVERNORSHIP 2015:NOT 4 ALL ZONES -by maaji Nathaniel Daisy :In our political culture here in nigeria n it 36 state ,we have a structure for the sharing of political fortunes and for the representation of the political interest.At the state, we have senatorial districts,three in each state all through the country.These senatorial districts constitute the formular 4 power sharing in each state and it has been a potent guide in the sharing of political position,fostering peace n unity in the state...........................ing to Nasarawa state,our dear state,it will only be pertiinent to start our argument from our history.The decision is stemming from the premise that:history matters because it is meant to inspire and instruct posterityAlso according to Winston churchill the farther back u are able to look,the further foward you will be able to see.....................The founding fathers of Nasarawa state has an agreement over the sharing of power,politicaal power in the state.This agreement was capture in a decument popularly called nasarawa state charter of equityThe content of this charter say,unequivocally,that power will rotate alternatly between the 3 major constituent or ethnic divides of the state namely mada Rindre/Eggon!Nas north,Alago/koro,gwandara nas south and hausa/fulani Gbagi,Affo,koto.a good thought,later on,the dynamism of political delineation and restruring,at the Federal level galvanized this charter by our founding fathers,and ushered in senatorail destrict..................................................Oa happy note,all our political party n leaders from 1996 when Nasarawa state was created,till date,have respect and upheld both the nasarawa charter of equity and the senatorial districts in a kind of a beautiful mix.in 1999 when Dr Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu was elected Governor of Nasarawa state.His deputy was chosen from other divides zone of nasarawa north constituent part of the state.this restructuring,naturally,upgeld the sactity of the charter beqeathered to us by our founding fathers.it is gratifying to note that in Nasarawa state,the restructuring into senatorial districts,@ any time from 1999 to date,has not rubbished the charter of equity,rather,it has kept the charter sacrosant................That is why in 199 when Dr alhaji Abdullahi Adamu was elected Governor ,his deputy Barr Solomon Ewuga was selected from Nasarawa north with eggon ethnic Majority. Dr Aliyu kwe Doma comes from Nasarawa south n his deputy Dr chief mikel Abdul John come from the northern zone.Later Again Lafia zone(Nasarawa north) produce Governor Tanko Almakura,and he pick his deputy from Hon Dameshi Barua Luka from nasarawa north. Which a close Door 4 all the senatorial zone except Nasarawa North zone.Another important information here is that nasarawa south still plan to make another dance toward 2015.A beautiful mix.which has engendred unity and brotherly love in our political struggle.One may need to ask why did Tanko almakura stand to violate 2011 agreement of the charter by making new move toward 2015 n dumping of his deputy,Hon Dameshi Barau Luka..............in conclusion.The good people of Nasarawa north should know that if agreement of our founding fathers cannot defend us,we must defend it.According to magret thatchera law is not law if it cannot be obeyed.Again,we say demanding obedience to pledge(agreement)is not n should never be taking as and offence......maaji nathaniel lauji.
