NASAs LADEE Lunar atmosphere detection satellite has finally - TopicsExpress

NASAs LADEE Lunar atmosphere detection satellite has finally dropped out of orbit and smashed into the far side of the moon. This impact was planned, not only to give data from very near the surface, but also to keep the space above the moon free of dead satellites. The four month extended mission gathered information vital to future moon missions and colonies. It was launched from the Mid-Atlantic spaceflight center at Wallops Island, Va. and was the first lunar mission from that site. Comments on the AOL/Huffington Post article were largely anti-science and factually ignorant. These folks are remarkably proud of being uninformed about the worlds in front of them. Sigh. One fellow remarked that NASA wastes billions, like that time that one of the Space Shuttles blew up on its first test flight. Ah, no. An informed electorate makes good choices. An uninformed electorate is easily deceived and elects the clowns we have in Congress now.
