NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Statistical Advance: New Hampshire Analyzing The F.W. Webb 100 At New Hampshire Motor Speedway DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 16, 2014) – The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for Saturday’s F.W. Webb 100 in Loudon, New Hampshire. Below is a statistical look at the performance of tour and selected drivers at the track F.W. Webb 100 Setup: · Championship points leader Doug Coby is the only driver to finish in the top 10 in all 10 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events this year. He won the F.W. Webb 100 in 2012 and the team he now drives for, the No. 2 of MSIII Racing, took the checkered flag last year with Todd Szegedy behind the wheel. · Justin Bonsignore is just four tallies behind Coby in the standings. He already has a career-high three victories this year, and will be in search of his first win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday. · Mike Stefanik and Ted Christopher enter the week tied for the NHMS track wins record with 10 apiece. Stefanik has eight in NWMT action and two from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East while Christopher’s are divided equally between the two series. Ryan Preece was the polesitter and Doug Coby took the checkered flag. · Justin Bonsignore passed first-time pole winner Woody Pitkat with nine laps to go to win the points season opener at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 6. · Rookie Tommy Barrett Jr. captured his first pole and Bobby Santos earned his sixth Stafford Motor Speedway victory on April 27. · After two rainouts, the third race of the season finally got in the books on June 6 when Doug Coby took the checkered flag at Stafford. Santos earned the pole on the original May 23 race date. · The first bullring race of the year saw a battle between polesitter Donny Lia and Bobby Santos on June 21 at Waterford Speedbowl, and Santos eventually won out for his 12th career victory. · Eric Goodale earned his first career win and John Beatty Jr. his first pole on June 28 at Riverhead Raceway. · Ron Silk earned his first pole of 2014 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 12 and Santos made a last-lap pass to record his first Loudon victory. Ryan Newman won the non-points Whelen All-Star Shootout the day before. · Justin Bonsignore took the checkered flag from the pole on July 19 at Monadnock Speedway to become the first multi-race winner in NWMT history at the New Hampshire bullring. · Woody Pitkat earned his first career victory on Aug. 8 at Stafford. Santos was the event’s polesitter. · Bonsignore took the checkered flag at Thompson on Aug. 14. Lia was the top qualifier. After Bonsignore captured the pole, Barrett claimed his first checkered flag at Bristol Motor Speedway in the annual combination race with the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour on Aug. 20. · The Riverhead 200 was scheduled to be contested on Sept. 13 at Riverhead, but was cancelled due to rain. · Following this week’s F.W. Webb 100, the NWMT will return to action with the NAPA Fall Final 100 on Sept. 28 at Stafford.
