NATIONAL OPERATIONS MANAGER CTC: R 50,000.00 TO R 75,000.00 Available: January / February 2015 Our Client within the Transport Industry for over 43 years is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated person. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Degree • 10+ years’ operational work experience. • Computer literate – especially the Microsoft packages. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 1: Reporting & General Management DAILY: • Daily Reporting on all national operations management. • Conduct and coordinate the national morning conference call (varies from 30 – 60min). • Review and follow-up from on Daily Ops & Technical Report with required feedback and action to be taken. • Review and analysis of the Daily Management Report. • Review and analysis of budget lines on a daily basis. • Attendance of any operational meetings. OTHER: • Reporting in management meetings – overview of business operations. • Conduct depot visits and audits. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 2: Operational Management DAILY: • Ensure productivity is maintained of individual coaches. In collaboration with technical department. • The maintaining of company standards i.e. cleanliness of coaches, service schedules, fuel consumption, aesthetics of all vehicles. • Conduct daily fuel consumption checks. Do spot-checks on work from administrators. • Handling of accident investigations and disciplinary issues. MONTHLY: • Ensure the fleet is managed according to planned schedules, operations policy, procedures and revenue management. • Ensure validity of COFs, licences and all other required documentation for fleet of coaches. • Management of non-revenue vehicles and analysis on their usage. OTHER: • Management and coordination of any breakdowns. • Personally being involved with coaches running more than 3 hours late. • Involvement with accidents to ensure compliance to company policy. • Conducting spot checks with coaches on ready-line to ensure compliance with company policies & procedures. • Management of route operating licenses and permits. Include submission processes of new permit applications. • Acquiring of new operating licenses and permits. • Scheduling of new trained drivers to start with training trips KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 3: Policies and Procedures • Ensure all policies and procedures are current and applicable. • Ensure all policies and procedures are complied with and fully operational at all times. • Ensure all systems utilized are adding value and is current with operations. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 4: Human Resources Management DAILY: • Act as direct line-manager for the 24 Hour Central Operations team. • Daily communication with area managers and other key-operational personnel. • Manage and analyse overtime. • Manage the equal scheduling of all crew. OTHER: • Auditing of Happy Reports for payroll. • Performance Management of all direct reports. Include the setting of expectations. • Managing and enforcement of discipline for all operational staff. • Manpower planning in collaboration with HR department – ensuring the correct people are employed. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 5: Financial Management DAILY: • Ensure budgets/costs is monitored and controlled. • Approval of all orders. OTHER: • Stock take and business equipment audits carried out regularly. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 6: System Management • Check and analyse the LG report, to check the voids, new creations and daily creations & reconciliations of the completed trips with Engen reports. • Manage every LG that was not created within 10 minutes after departure, action and mails done to the relevant depots to establish the reasons thereof. • Petty cash needs to be sign off daily, mostly Africa. • Check and manage the status of ATRs daily. • Manage Overstaffing report. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 7: General Administration • Daily involvement with Customer care on complaints that are operations related, advise given and in serious cases send letters to the passengers. • Liasion with legal department on matters required. • Close of completed complaints daily from depots. • Management of all drivecam related matters. • Analysing of all drive-cam clips. • Management of all tracking related matters. • Email management on a daily basis. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA 8: Mentoring and Compliance • Depot Visits RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS • Have a proficient knowledge of the company, its divisions, associates, people, products, service and website. • Must have experience from an operational environment. • Must be able to motivate and lead people. • Assist fellow colleagues in the daily running of company related tasks. • Be focused on providing work of an extremely high quality. • Show ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines. • Very good organizational skills. • Be able to enforce discipline. • Work shifts and weekends.
