NAVAL BASE Oguta community is all aware that the military decided to build a Naval Base at Oguta for training of their cadets. The OCDU again took charge of the development patriotically. At one meeting of OCDU, decision was reached to delegate members to Lagos to canvass this among the military leaders. In consultation with the Prof Ikenna Nizimiro to the office of the chief of naval staff and two members of OCDU, Why did the government abandon this plan? Yet unknown to Oguta. In many minds in Oguta freedom is a license to indulge. But one rarely hears a revolutionary cry these days to overthrow the red powers. It is already very hard to remember that, only a generation ago, there were a number of Ogutians of significant character and talent, who believed that our society was not merely doomed but undeserving of survival, and to whom every one of its institutions seemed not just unworthy of preservation but crying out to be exterminated. Remember the genius of the founding fathers was in their construction of a legal and political system that protected minorities from the possibility of a tyranny of the major.
