NAVSTA NORFOLK- Fleet Weather Center Norfolk is issuing a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Naval Station Norfolk and Chambers Field, from 1400 30 April until 2300 30 April 2014 local time. Unstable warm air ahead of approaching cold front will produce isolated severe thunderstorms in the local area. Winds, south 8-13 knots gusting 18-24 knots, except variable 25 knots gusting 50-55 knots in thunderstorms. Expect heavy rain showers, frequent lightning, hail up to 1/2 inch and possible tornadoes or waterspouts. This watch will either be extended or allowed to expire by 2300 30 April 2014. Monitor local media and weather alert radio for updates.
