NBCs Hannibal is pretty good. Not as good as any of the movies (aside from that HORRIBLE Hannibal Rising which, to be honest, I dont even count among the movies. The dude who plays Hannibal Lecter in the TV series, Mads Mikkelsen, is very decent and very creepy, yet I have no idea why they chose a Danish guy. Hannibal will ALWAYS be British to me! I just dont mean Anthony Hopkins, but also Brian Cox, the first Hannibal Lecter from the original 1986 movie, Manhunter. I just cant see Hannibal with a Danish accent, so its a bit jarring to watch. :/ Also...um....Laurence Fishburne as Agent Crawford? Um...WHAT?? The actor who plays Will Graham is good though, and Docter Chilton is AMAZING. And big props to giving Gillian Anderson a supporting role in this! Not many people may know this, but the Agent Dana Scully character in The X-Files was actually modeled after Clarice Starling. So having Gillian Anderson in Hannibal is actually a full-circle-type-homage. Yes, Im a geek and notice these things.
