NCRPO Welcomes 1200 New Police Recruits “You are hired to uphold high standards of integrity. Take this chance to serve the public better and make the NCRPO proud.” The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director, PDIR Carmelo E Valmoria encouraged the new recruits and the rest of the NCRPO personnel as he administered the oath taking of the 1,200 new police recruits held at NCRPO Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City on September 30, 2014. These 1,200 (1,020 male and 180 female) newly recruited police officers were the fortunate ones to be included in the rank over 7,360 applicants since the recruitment and selection process started in January 2014. This is part and the first batch of the 9,200 police officers quota for the calendar year 2014 to fill up the inadequate numbers of police officers in Metro Manila. NCRPO assured that the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division – Recruitment and Selection Section (RPRMD-RSS) strictly and meticulously screened these rookies through series of comprehensive and thorough selection process such as: Complete Background Investigation, Physical Agility Test, Drug Test, Psychiatric and Psychological Examination, Physical Medical Dental Examination, and Final Interview. This is to avoid hiring misfit police personnel and ensure the quality and accountability of the qualified police officers to be seen in the field of police operations. This oath taking serves as their entrance to undergo the Public Safety Field Training Program for one (1) year wherein they must endure the painstaking physical conditioning to develop their efficiency and to instill discipline and camaraderie within them. They will also be trained on series of academic training such as Police Operational Procedure and Basic Law; and non-academic such as self-defense, handgun proficiency and others that will enhance their competence, and institute their proficiency in the field of investigation, patrol and traffic management. Their performance rating within the training will be their requisite to get their permanent status in the PNP. Meanwhile, the NCRPO RPRMD-RSS is still on the process of accepting and selecting qualified police applicants for the next batch.
