NDIKUDZIWA ANTHU AMAFUNA KUNDIPHA« MPHWIYO Malawi’s Treasury budget director Paul Mphwiyo is ready to tell the court the people who orchestrated his shooting when he narrowly escaped death after being shot three times in the face at the gate of his Area 43 house on September 13 in the capital Lilongwe. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Bruno Kalemba and Deputy Inspector General Nelson Bophani, who is heading investigations into the Mphwiyo attempted murder, have said the budget director is a prime witness in the case. Mphwiyo, who is recovering from a South African hospital, has promised to identify those behind the attack. “I know the people who wanted me dead,” Mphwiyo briefly told CCM. The gun shot survivors strongly believes he was targeted for murder for his tough stance against financial malpractices.
