NEED ONE IN THE PHILIPPINES BADLY. Sharing some comments: Wow. Solar and capable of cleaning up so much trash at a slow and steady pace. I marvel at the imagination of the human mind. Really innovative, yet simple machine. This thing is amazing. They should have one in every river in every major city (where appropriate for boat traffic) This should be a required device for every river in America. So simple and works so well. I imagine it also could scrape off oils from the surface too. Great! WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS! Point of this device is brilliant. Stationary, no emissions at all. For what it is doing, picking up all the trash as the current flows. Would love to see these more in use. Interesting. I see in the view it collected some tree logs. .. those are organic and natural. They should be put back into the river as they work to help bring back the eco-system. This is so cool :0 I always wanted to pick up random trash next to the freeways, it bothers me so much. Im very curious if they keep records on how much money in recyclables that this pulls from the river each year? The reason I ask if you can make it economically feasible by selling the plastic/etc it pulls from the water many cities may go for it. Very cool Idea and a great way to keep things from washing down rivers into the ocean. You may want to consider putting the logs back. They contribute to the health of the river by providing habitat for small fish. Also as they decompose the release nutrients into the river that wash downstream into the soil. Id like to know what is the cost of such a tool? According to one article I read, $800,000. It uses solar panels also. How a Solar-Powered Water Wheel Can Clean 50,000 Pounds of Trash Per Day From Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. We need several mega-size water wheels to clean up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (A plastic continent) that some say is 3 times larger than the United States and 90 feet deep, and growing.
