NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH NEEDED!! CBCs Information Morning News reported that there is a demand for more police presence in the Downtown area when the bars close. One man was startled awake in the early hours when a heavy object was thrown through his glass door! And a couple of nights ago, someone emptied garbage cans into the wading pool in Wilmot Park. Now, the Wilmot Park incident happened in the middle of the week, so I doubt it was people leaving the bars. In my opinion, there are youngsters out on the prowl almost every night of the week recently. Just a few minutes ago, heard on the scanner, a woman arrived home, and just as she pulled into her driveway, she spotted two teenagers in her yard, and they took off. She then saw that her patio table was smashed. Unfortunately I didnt catch the address. If it was close I wouldnt hesitate to go out for a walk and try to spot them. Somehow, without putting ourselves in harms way, we need to take back our neighborhoods. We need to feel safe while walking our streets, in our yards and especially in our own homes! The police just cant spread themselves around enough.
