NEMA DEPLOYS FOR KATSINA EMERGENCY. Personnel and equipment to improve the welfare and management of internally displaced persons camps in Adamawa State. Sani Datti, Senior Information Officer at the agency, said such equipment included ambulances and water tanks. According to the statement, the development followed result of the findings from a detailed assessment of the operations of internally displaced persons camps conducted in Adamawa state by the Director General of the NEMA, United Nations High Commission for Refugee (UNCHR), International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the Nigerian Red Cross, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution. Director General, Muhammad Sani Sidi, said the personnel deployed to the state would help in maintaining proper and modern camp management and camp coordination while the mobile intensive care unit ambulance would be stationed to respond to emergencies in any of the camps.
