NESTING BIRDS IN PERIL ! Whether it is because local councils and authorities are ruthlessly cutting back on experienced staff and seem to be targeting the parks ,countryside and environmental departments the hardest to meet their budget cuts, or just Councils moving managers in to manage their green spaces regardless of whether they have any environmental knowledge or not. But It does seem that Wildlife law and good conservation practice is being disregarded by some councils who presumably regard themselves above the law or that the heads of their grounds maintenance departments are just ignorant of the law .But It has been noticed that some roadside Hedges are being cut back with tractors and side arm flails (Not unlike the equipment featured in the photographs ) and this is occurring right in the middle of the nesting season . It is against the law to disturb or damage nests of nesting birds . So if your council is guilty report them to the police .
