NEW EUROPEANS JOIN UKRAINE PROTEST IN LONDON Roger Casale, Chair of New Europeans will speak at Marble Arch today at the invitation of Euromaidan London and the Federation of Poles in Great Britain. The Ukrainian people have reminded us of what it means to be European with their courage and through their sacrifices in the name of the values we all share - freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. This is not a struggle between East and West. This is a moment of truth for all those who believe in these universal values - it is a very grave and serious moment not just for the people of Ukraine but also for the Russian people themselves. Russians, Ukrainians, and the international community must now confront the consequences of decisions made by an authoritarian and tyrannous regime, acting in complete violation of international law. As citizens of Europe of today, we salute the stand of the people of the Ukraine - you are the citizens of Europe of tomorrow and we support you in your fight for freedom. We join our voices to the international calls for Russia to de-escalte this conflict and to return to the path of peace, diplomacy and the rule of law. And we continue to hope and pray for a peaceful, democratic and just resolution of this conflict.
