NEW JERSEY JELLYFISH: A rare, highly venomous jellyfish was filmed this week in New Jerseys Manasquan River. The footage of the jellyfish, identified as a sea wasp (Tamoya haplonema), was posted to the community page of Barnegat Bay Island on Facebook by Jerry Meany, according to a local news report. Meanys post described the jellyfish as 6-8 inches long, translucent grey blue with the orange tentacles. Sea wasps are rarely seen, being habitual bottom dwellers.
