Yesterday FareShare Greater Manchester received more food than any other single day since launching in 2008: a staggering 94 pallets of food came in just in time for a busy Christmas tackling food poverty and bringing people in need much needed festive cheer. That is over 50 tonnes of food including Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal christmas food donations, fruit & veg salvaged from New Smithfield Market, Kelloggs UK & Ireland Give a Child a breakfast campaign, Tesco Neighbourhood Food Drive donation and surplus... Warehouse full, what a day! Special thanks to our wonderful volunteers and a team from Simply Health for helping it go so smoothly.
