NEW Spawn and toy NEWS!!!! And NEW NEWS from NEW YORK!!!!!!!! Besides, I just wanted to see how many times I could use the word new. Attended the New York Comic Con today, where we are set up for the next few days. Had some big displays full of our towlines and our upcoming The Walking Dead building sets. We were able to show the fans some of the actual finished product and boxes for The Walking Dead construction. The number one question was WHEN ARE THESE SET FOR SALE???? The answer is NEXT WEEK...exclusively at Toys R Us. I cant say they will be in every one of there outlets across the country, but hopefully the store near you will get their shipment first. They will be selling them online too at ToysRUs at some point and we will let you know exactly when that will happen too. At my panel today, the capacity filled crowd got to here about our BIG plans for SPAWN. First there will be the triple-sized anniversary issue 250 with the long awaited return of AL SIMMONS, the original Spawn. That book will have cover by some of the top talents in the industry, and none bigger than the great Greg Capullo Capullo, who is knocking them dead with his current DC Comics Batman work. That book will be on sale in January 2015. His return sets the stage for a new SPAWN ISSUE #1...titled SPAWN RESURRECTION. Which will come out the next month in February. This new book launches the new direction of a more mature, more focused Al Simmons who is about to turn the table on his enemies by slowly becoming the Hunter instead of the Hunted. This new stage will be brought you you by renowned writer and Eisner nominated talent Brian Wood. His sense of doing urban stories mixed with high octane heroics is a perfect fit for what will be Al Simmons foray to holding back the forces of evil on mankind. His stories will be drawn by a very talented artist who, I promise will knock you socks off visually (Ive already seen some of his new costume designs). And this new creative team and new story direction will lead back into SPAWN issue 251 the following month. Lastly, all of these new issues, along with the entire library of the past 250 issues of Spawn will, for the VERY FIRST TIME be available for digital downloads! Thats right, beginning in 2015 you will be able to get all the excitement straight to your house without ever having to leave it. Details of when, where, and how much will be given shortly. And since I will have some spare time...then how about if I FINALLY get that darn movie script done.
