Just to keep companionship and help you share the world with them whichever way that might be. So, to share yourself a bit will not only help others but will make you a more open and complete being too. So, please do not stay too quiet and introverted like some people might want you to be possessively for their own selfish gain. Be part of this small world out there and share a bit of yourself as your unique self. Your partner, as once a stranger, is not your only unique world for your own growth. It is a narrow way of thinking about life and living. Rather be part of the entire world to share your knowledge, values and feelings as well as learn from them everyday about things that interest you most. You find that we are a unique being of our own right and it is only this attitude of mind that will makes you grow and enhance your love for your loved ones as well as for the entire human population.
