NEW YEARS MESSAGE FROM SAYYIDUNA UMAR BIN KHATTAB RA. In one of the khtbahs/speeches regarding Muharram Hazrat Umar RA said, “Always be connected to Allah’s remembrance, as the connection will lead you to the beloved Prophet [Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam] and Allah, the exalted. Disconnect yourself from Dunyah, the love, ones desire and sacrifice all that you have to be always connected with Allah’s remembrance. Your soul is always connected to Allah but you choose to disconnect it with disobedience and following of desire and duniyah. So sacrifice all that you have and be in the command of Allah’s remembrance. Every limbs obedience is a connection to Allah’s remembrance; Disconnection is the following of unlawful desire and Shyataan. To keep the connection with the light of Allah, you need to go though purification. So follow the path towards Allah, never leave the Sunnah. Do not fear Shaytaan but become the one who is feared by shayteen by following the ways of the Prophet [Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam]. This month is the month of sacrifice, the month of Allah, so realise what is most beloved to you and sacrifice your desire for Allah. May my words give you the strength to become like my sword and sacrifice your unlawful desires for the pleasure of Allah [Azzawajal]”.
