NEWS: A 24-year-old Stoke-on-Trent man will appear before magistrates in Newcastle tomorrow, Friday, charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of cannabis. Akeem Thames, from the Shelton area of Stoke-on-Trent, was charged this afternoon, Thursday. The charge relates to an incident on College Road, Shelton, at around midnight on Monday 19 May. It left a 24-year-old man with a significant eye injury for which he is still receiving specialist treatment. We would like to thank everyone who contacted us with information following this incident. Our investigation is ongoing and we would ask anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us on 101. Residents can also talk to their local officers who carry out regular high-visibility patrols in the area.
