NEWS RELEASE: On Monday, March 3rd, 2014 at about 2:37pm, the Jamestown Police Department and the Jamestown Fire Department responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of East 3rd Street and North Main Street. Steven Nowell, 18, of Jamestown was operating his 1991 Chevrolet Blazer, and he was making a left turn onto North Main Street from East 3rd Street. A 49 year old Jamestown woman was walking across North Main Street in an East bound direction when she was struck by the Chevy Blazer. The pedestrian was crossing with the traffic signal and she was walking in a marked crosswalk, when she was struck. She sustained injuries to her left arm, left leg, and her hip. She was transported by Alstar Ambulance to WCA Hospital for medical treatment. Steven Nowell was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
