NEWS RELEASE: Police arrest two men for burglaries of snowball stands Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of burglaries at area snowball stands. Tyler James Boyer, 21, of Glenwood, and Christopher Jerome Grimley, 29, of Glendale, were charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree burglary, theft, and destruction of property. Between July 26 and July 30, police have responded to a series of commercial burglaries in which the time of day, location proximity, targeted businesses and method of entry were similar in nature. On July 26, at 11:48 p.m. two suspects pried open the door of the snowball stand located in front of Kendall’s Hardware, in the 12200 block of Clarksville Pike, Clarksville. They searched the interior for money. The safe was partially pulled from its location but was not removed. Nothing was taken from the stand. On July 30, at 2:55 a.m. two suspects kicked-in the front door to The Snowball Stand in the 1900 block of Woodstock Road in Woodstock. Two cash registers were opened and cash was taken. The interior of the business had been ransacked and the exterior spot light was moved until it went off. The suspects also used bolt cutters to break a pad lock on the front window. Through investigation, it was determined that the suspects were forcing entry into the businesses using bolt cutters, cut off saws, screw drivers and pry bars. Detectives were assisted in their investigation by surveillance footage from the snowball stand burglaries and surveillance footage from a convenience store in the vicinity of Kendall Hardware. Through further investigation, Boyer and Grimley were identified as suspects. They were apprehended without incident on Aug. 8 and taken into custody. Police believe the two men may be linked to similar commercial burglaries that took place at area public pools and other snowball stands in recent weeks. Investigation is continuing. # # #
