NEWS UPDATE @ 9AM WITH Orange Uganda: NO MORE AID CUTS OVER THE ANTI-GAY LAW: The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hon. Okello Oryem has said that the European Union has assured the Ugandan government that there will be no more aid cuts over the Anti-gay Act. Hon. Oryem says this was discussed in two meetings held with both the European Union ambassadors late last month, and another with the United States. KIIR AND MACHAR MEETING: South Sudans rival politicians are likely to have a face-to-face meeting on Friday in Ethiopia, UN chief Ban Ki-moon has said. Both President Salva Kiir and his sacked former deputy Riek Machar had given him their assurances during his trip to South Sudan, he said. MEN TAKE ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES FOR BETTER LOOKS: Young men in Saudi Arabia are increasingly taking oral contraceptives in the belief that the pill will make them look better and treat acne; a bad skin disease and other problems, according to a Saudi newspaper. The paper quoted some men as saying the pills have proven their efficiency in improving their looks (well-built chests and arm muscles) and softening their harsh voices.
