NEWS UPDATE AT NOON WITH ORANGE The NRM party has rubbished claims by the opposition leaders that by 2016 President Museveni will be over and above the constitutional mandate of 75 years for anyone to vie for the top most presidential seat. However, the party’s public relations Evelyn Anite says this claim by the opposition is baseless and nonsensical. Anite says consultation to front Museveni solely for the 2016 polls have been finalized in 76 constituents, and that several people were in support of the motion. Museveni will be vying for a fifth term in office in 2016 under the National Resistance Movement party ticket. The East African Court of Justice in Arusha has ordered East African Legislative Assembly to maintain status quo of the Speaker and restrained it from deliberating on the matter of her removal until the court deliberates on the matter come the 29 of May. The order was made on Friday after hearing of applications filed by Hon. Margaret Nantongo Zziwa, and Mbidde Foundation Limited. The Assembly accuses Zziwa of unilateral decision making; abuse of the consensus principle required in decision making of the commission. Kampala resident city commissioner Aisha Kabanda has stopped nakivubo stadium management from evicting Nakivubo parkyard market vendors until the two warrying parties reach an agreement. Kabanda is scheduled to meet the traders and the moguls who own arcades around the market to forge a way forward on the impasse. The traders accuse nakivubo stadium for sidelining with the moguls to unlawfully evict them from the market. The governor of Nigerias Borno state says he has information on the whereabouts of about 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamist group Boko Haram.Governor Kashim Shettima said he had passed reports of the sightings of the girls to the military for verification.Mr Shettima added that he did not think the girls had been taken across the border to Chad or Cameroon. Pro-Russian separatists in Ukraines eastern Donetsk region have claimed a resounding victory in a self-rule referendum, saying 89% voted in favour. Results from a similar vote in the region of Luhansk are due shortly and are expected to show a similar outcome.
