NEWSFLASH: Dear Friend, What a celebration the Last Day of Unleavened Bread was! After a most instructive sermon by Mr. Bob Berrie of San Angelo, Texas, we enjoyed an outstanding meal. The Feast was served on white linen table cloths accented with beautiful spring flower arrangements. All the cooks outdid themselves with delightful dishes we enjoyed. Homemade chicken and dumplings, chicken spaghetti, barbeque beef, with delicious baked beans, homemade potato salad, and more, all topped off with yummy desserts. These included homemade coconut pies, cream puffs, and a delightful assortment of our ladies’ best. To say the least, everyone feasted! Mr. Berrie selected a most appropriate sermon titled, Do the Days of Unleavened Bread Ever End? He explained that we should look for a greater meaning during these days than just getting the leavening out of our homes—what about the leavening in our lives? The Days of Unleavened Bread not only picture getting sin out of our lives, but putting Jesus Christ into our lives. He reminded us that it is our job to encourage new people because we’ve been there and done that. The day ended with everyone feeling stuffed with physical food and filled with the satisfaction that comes from hearing God’s Word, and fellowshipping with our much loved brethren.
