NEWSFLASH: UHC (United Healthcare) changes Healthy Pregnancy Notification Policy Larsen Billing Service strives to always provide complete and accurate information concerning all aspects of benefit information and claims processing. We regularly research and track insurance policy changes and trends to ensure that we are providing both you and your client with current information. As of January 1st, 2014, United HealthCare has made a policy change to their Healthy Pregnancy Program. To ensure that United HealthCare is upholding the most compliant HIPAA standards, they will no longer allow providers or Larsen Billing Service to enroll members into the Health Pregnancy Program. This responsibility now falls to the pregnant member. United HealthCare does not require that members participate in this program but highly suggests that they do. Many employers work with United HealthCare, and offer their employees incentives for enrolling. These incentives are governed by the employer. The benefits of the program vary per policy and range from health packets & magazines to waived portions of maternity deductibles. To find out the exact benefit, the member will need to contact United HealthCare for more information regarding this. • Due to the above policy change at United HealthCare, Larsen Billing Service will no longer be able to set up the United HealthCare Healthy Pregnancy Notification and number as part of the Verification of Benefits process. Our Benefits Department will be notifying members of the program and providing them with information on how to contact United HealthCare. This information will be presented within the Verification of Benefits email, sent to UHC members that submit a Patient Registration Form on our website. Your client may inquire about and enroll in this program by calling (888) 246-7389. (Please note that if your client has already had their baby, they will not be eligible to be enrolled into this program.) Once enrolled, your client will be given a 6 digit Healthy Pregnancy number. If they provide you with this number please inform your LBS Billing Specialist, so that she may document it in your members account. This will allow us to submit claims properly and thereby reduce problems that may delay payment being made to you. Larsen Billing Service will continue to stay up to date with policy changes that happen with insurance companies, to ensure that, as a provider, you always have the most current information for your clients.
