NGF DRAMA Latest: #21 GOVERNORS SHUN PRO-JANG MEETING# =============== *Pro-Jang Governors Stop Him From Reading Communiqué. *You Lack Charisma & Good Rapport With The Media – Pro-Jang Govs! =============== Twenty-one out of the 36 governors in the NGF, did not attend the meeting of the group called by Governor Jonah Jang, the leader of a faction of the forum. Notably, the 19 governors who are supporters of the Chairman of the NGF, Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, shunned the meeting of the Pro-Jang faction yesterday. Two previous meetings called by Jang at his factional secretariat located in the Maitama District, Abuja were similarly boycotted by the pro-Amaechi governors. Meanwhile, only 15 governors attended the pro-Jang meeting. The governors who attended yesterday’s meeting were: Jang; Theodore Orji (Abia); Martin Elechi (Ebonyi); Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa); Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta); Gabriel Suswam (Benue); Ibrahim Shema (Katsina); Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom); Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo); and Umar Garba (Taraba Acting Governor). The Deputy Governors of Anambra, Gombe, Kogi, Kaduna and Cross River represented their principals. Drama, however, ensued at the end of the meeting when some of the governors within Mr. Jang’s camp had complained that he was hardly audible whenever he spoke to reporters. They also complained that the Plateau governor lacked charisma and good rapport with the media. “A few of the governors on his side expect him to show the carriage of a man leading other governors,” said a source. In reading the faction’s communiqué, Governor Mimiko announced that the splinter group had set up a five-man committee to review their constitution. The committee, which is to be chaired by Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State, has Governors Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Theodore Orji (Abia), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta) and Mimiko as members.
