NIGERIA 54TH INDEPENCE IN DISMAY There is no gain saying about the freedom of the country call Nigeria today in 1960 when she got her independence from the British Colonial rule couple with the transfer of power to and indigenous Leader. My heart always bleed for my country whenever we celebrate her birth I.e when ever we celebrate our independence without no tangible achievement. Its 54th years of our freedom now we are still salvaging with abject poverty, high rate of corrupt practices even between individuals, group and rampant among political elite. According to the available figures from the Bureau of statistics put the current youth unemployment rate at over 25%. The implication is that over 25 million of Nigeria youth population of about 100 million are unemployed - a situation that is threatening the very survival as a nation. Security has become things of the past as protection of life and properties is no more guarantee in the country with the advent of Boko-Horam as the weapon of the milit forces has been outdated without no much upgrading despite the huge amount of money been put to the security of the country in the budget. Money laundering has been come the order of the day in the country. Inmagine 9.3 billion Dollars flying out to Sought African without the knowledge of the National Assembly, oh what a night mere. Debt crisis is Another salient thing country involve her self in. Of recent the Presidency were being given go ahead by the National Assembly to borrow 1billion Dollar from an I international organization. When will my dear country learn from all this mess. Have We quickly forgot in the past when the money that could have added to our economy prosperity were been use to service money being borrow from World Bank. In spite of different transformation agenda we had in the past and even the present regime so call transformation agenda where is Nigeria in the world rating. Nigeria has since been tag with giant of Africa but is the economic situation of the country potrate us as the giant of Africa? Political office in the country has be totally mortgage as the the people at the corridor of power dont want to give way for the young promising and upcoming once due to selfish interest and this deprived those that have the country in heart the opportunity to showcase their God given talents. We claim to have the National Anthem but we resight it as just a normal song without strict adhenrence to the words in it. Arise O Compatriots Nigeria’s call obey To serve our Fatherland With love and strength and faith The labour of our heroes past Shall never be in vain To serve with heart and might One nation bound in freedom Peace and Unity. With the attitude of some political elites which are just after their own pucket and acquire fame, wealth and properties for their self nowadays, is the labour of our heroes past not been in vain now? With the politics of ethnicity, regionalism, sectionalism rampaging the political affair of Nigeria state, is Nigeria one as been claim in our National anthem which says One nation bound in freedom? Today some people claim that to serve Nigeria is not by force as oppose what is uptainable in Nigeria National Pledge which says to serve Nigeria with all my strenght and the reason behind this can not be far fetch, it may be due to the failure of the government to step in for some of his responsibilities. Rule-of-Law has been a thing of the past in the county which is one of the cardinal thing propounded by one of the founding father of Democracy K.C Whare. As seeing in the country today justice is for the ruling class as you will only be found guilty if you are in opposition side against the government of the day. Upon the diverse Mineral and natural resources we are endow with in the country what is the tangible things have we benefited there of the years. Electricity in the country is in a calamity situation. It only in Nigerian I have ever had that a country who own power source suffer inadequate power supply and the nabouring country they share power with were celebrating TEN (10) years of uninterrupted power supply. What a country of ours? Education in Nigeria has nothing to write home about as primary education in the country which suppose to prepare the children for their future career is been salvaging with many months industrial action known as strike. University system embark on the same full step as they too embark on industrial action which lasted for six good months. To even know the tragedy Nigeria University does not even fall in the 500 best university in the world rating. Wow! Things are really fallen apart in this country. With all this I refuse to join people in categorizing Nigeria as a fail neither a failing state because each country has their own short coming but inability of the Leader to address those short coming is the element that propel the people to categorize them as either falling or a fail state. All hope has not lost as me and you can still make what is said to be wrong with Nigeria to be right because we our bound to defend our be love country come rain come sun. God bless Nigeria, in unity we stand. HAPPY NEW MONTH AND HAPPY INDEPENDENT CEREMONY. I Love Nigeria. Compose by PRINCE TOLUFASHE MONDAY OLA. for more of this follow me on twitter @dealerprince.
