NIGERIA STINKS BAD WITH CORRUPTION Nigeria stinks with corruption and there is actually no word to appropriately describe how bad things are. The Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Adaeze may have been caught with hands in the candy jar, but she is certainly not the only BARAWO, as corruption and profligacy have become the hallmark of successive Administrations of the country. The Government is made up of semi-illiterates, ex-military people, marauders, looters, bandits. brigands, fraudsters, gangsters, racketeers, and mafia and even mobsters . Many of them beat the rap after rap to become folk-heroes to the unsuspecting and gullible Nigerians- who refer to them as Cash Madam, Mama Ke, Baba Rere, etc. Since they are untouchable because of the godfathers they have at the top, they remain nightmare to Law Enforcement Agencies of EFCC, ICPC , SSS and even the Nigeria Police. This is lamentable in deed! As typified by Stella Oduah, who is now being used as reference point, these crops of power-profiteers are not only lazy, indolent dishonest, inefficient, ineffective, incompetent, arrogant, and therefore unreliable as public servants, but they are also, as members of the ruling-elites, manipulative, Machiavellian and vicious. Their rise to top positions which they hold in trust for the people, is not based on their fitness for the jobs they are expected to perform, but it is the result of their intrigues, lies, and betrayals. coupled with the cult of compromise, favoritism, nepotism, cronyism, and mediocrity, we have espoused in our body polity for a long time. It is by and large because they are politically connected. These bandits use the advantage of their offices to loot treasury, plunder, and pillage the natural resources of the country. They, their cronies, and cohorts in the business sector, with the tacit connivance of their subordinates in office, share the natural resources of the country-crude oil, gas, etc for pittance. When this happens, it is the masses that suffer in the end. This is because it is their joint property and commonwealth that is more or less being stolen from them. For the sake of emphasis, it must be said, even at the expense of tautology, that not only Princess Stella Oduah, but every-one of them takes, takes and takes, everyday of the week, so that they can have lots of money stashed in their different foreign accounts and companies in London, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Panama, Polynesia, Mauritius, Marshall Islands, South Africa and even Ghana. Rather than compete in the faculty of ideas to drive good governance, probity and accountability for the benefit of Nigerians, whose trust they are betraying, or invest their natural human resources of time, ability, opportunity, talent, and knowledge for the public good, these rogues only compete on the basis of who owns the latest and most palatial mansion at Lekki, Banana Island and Atlantic City in Lagos, as well as prime locations in Abuja. They also make show-off and exhibit affluence on the basis of the number of most luxurious automobile or even jets they own in town. Not only that. They build dacha in Miami-beach, Florida, holiday resorts in Hawaii, and Las Vegas in USA, Brazil and Paris in France. What is left for common man and those Frantz Fanon referred to as The Wretched Of The Earth is gari, after working for 18 hours a day, and that is, if he is ever lucky to find job. It is on the fore-going basis, and if it must be said, that this Administration really has zero-tolerance and listening ears, that I support that Government should investigate the purchase of the two BMW cars at the whopping sum of $1.6 million, at this difficult time, when cash is so difficult to come by and every kobo counts, particularly for NCAA, which is cash-strapped. If the Minister is found guilty, she should not only be humiliated out of office, but all her ill-gotten wealth should be forfeited to the State. Also, whichever staff of the Parastatal found to have connived in the deal, one way or the other should be dismissed.
