NIGERIAN STUDENTS DEMAND TO KNOW HOW COLLEAGUE DIED IN UNITED STATE POLICE CUSTODY It is dis-heartened and sardonic on the 8th January broadcast of the death of a 22years old Nigerian Student, Mathew Ajibade who died in the custody of two Sheriffs deputies in savannah, Georgia, United State. Ajibade was born in Lagos Nigeria and he was in the United State studying computer Science at Savannah Technical College. He was an artist, which creative flairs led him to pursuits such as fashion photography and designing T-Shirt, who own his print design company called AFIDALE. National Association of Nigerian Student stand to challenge the authority of the United State police in George over the mis – management and mis-handling of our student in their custody having inform the police by the girlfriend of Ajibade medical condition of having bipolar disorder, handling over the bottle labeled Divalproex, a drug used to treat similar ailment during the cause of his arrest. The attitude of United State Police in Georgia was totally condemning as Ajibade was reported to have been placed in an isolated cell, not minding his medical condition, and we can deduce that he has been subjected to maltreatment. As an apostle of justice in the temple of peace and orderliness, the National Association of Nigerian Students [NANS], of over 45million Nigerian Students schooling at Home and Diaspora demand as a matter of systematic urgency an investigation and comprehensive report from Georgia Bureau of investigation and United State on the cause of the death of our young talented Nigerian. We had a similar case in September last year when a 29years old Black man, Charles Smith was also reported to have died in savannah police custody. Therefore, what we cannot confront we cannot conquer, we demand justice without delay so as to avert protest of Nigerian Students to all United State Embassy in different Countries.
