NIGERIAN TRIBUNE BE WARNED - AREGBESOLAS COUNSEL Mr. Edward Dickson, The Managing Director, Nigerian Tribune, African Newspapers of Nigeria Limited, Imalefalafia, Ibadan, Dear Sir, Re: Why Aregbesola Wants a Re-run We are counsel to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election petition going on at the Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo, State of Osun and we write in respect of the above caption published on page 16 of the Sunday Tribune of 2nd November, 2014. We have observed with consternation the repeated publication in the Nigerian Tribune and Sunday Tribune newspapers wherein it has always been alleged that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Governor of the State of Osun is asking for a re-run in his reply to the petition filed by Senator Iyiola Omisore which is pending at the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo, State of Osun. While we have complained in the past against such false publications, we have been treated with utmost disdain as your news organization would not air our views but rather repeat the same falsehood. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is asking for outright dismissal of the petition of Senator Omisore and is NOT asking for any re-run as he considers the petition to be frivolous and mere abuse of court process. We consider it pertinent that before your news organization would publish any story, it ought to verify the veracity of such claims and not push an unfounded piece of information to the general public. For the avoidance of doubt, we hereby forward to you a filed copy of the Reply filed by Ogbeni Aregbesola against the petition of Senator Omisore.
