NIGERIAN YOUTHS AND POLITICS •Tony EJ. Supporting a government that destroys your dreams. A government that has no future for you than to use you as THUGS makes me think our youths are in denial. I have met some brilliant youthful graduates unemployed and earning no income for over ten years. At 30 years of age and you are not in a career it is difficult to achieve your dreams. So I see another generation of wasted youths if urgent measure is not put in place to reverse the trend. I think a fundamental issue like this should always preoccupy the minds of our youths on such a leadership that can make their dreams happen. Drumming up support for a comestic leadership like the Taal-led government or his aspiring allies that does not care for you does not add up. We have seen this happen in previous elections that youths support was mobilized to, no post-election advantage. The question for our youths ought to be which way forward? That there are youth political appointments does not mean an open door of success for all youths. Even if a young man of 30 becomes president with our kind of political mindset encapsulated in corruption, it shall not serve any open floodgate advantage for Nigerian youths as a whole. It shall be business as usual. I have seen three generations of youths wasted in Nigeria. The trend is now getting worse now especially in a state like Nasarawa My advise to Nigerian youths is to fight for a leadership that takes their interests to Abuja, state capitals and Local government Headquarters. Youths, at least we now know that we cannot look to others for our deliverance! It is only upon God and our own votes that we must rely. Yet this is no reason to be disheartened rather the opposite. For it is better to know the truth of ones situation than be deceived by false hopes. We shall not fail! Your vote is your weapon, use it to build, not destroy. Remember, a youthful age compromised is an old age compromised. God bless Nigeria
