NIP Face book Logo 10 New political party, the N.I.P. is fighting next locals and European elections. Whoever, said we don’t have an alternative to vote for has certainly something to cheer about now as the newly formed ‘National Independent Party’ will be building up it’s local network right here Co. Louth. Given that we are in such desperate need of fresh faces and a solid attitude to our economic problems, this new national party aims to be everything our present politicians are not. John J Smyth, who’s running for Dundalk, and helps co-ordinate the region adds; “we have had our fill of current politicians, with all the deception and false promises; and we want to make absolutely sure the N.I.P brings on board as many decent and honest folk to retake this country and get job opportunities and the economy working once more” The party’s origins go back to 2012 during the Fiscal Treaty referendum when the founder Martin Critten, walk the 130 miles from Limerick to Leinster House Dublin. Angry and bitter over how this country’s inhabitants were being treated, he went in search of people willing to help set up a vibrant and new political movement, free of the kind of whip system that has crippled national debate in the Dail. And, it wasn’t very long before people were volunteering to help structure the party and establish it’s core values and aims. Indeed, its first ever policy document was the creation a new deal for the electorate ‘The Citizen’s Charter’, the objective being to dismantle cronyism and corruption within the corridors of power, and confine to history the disgraceful notion that you can say anything to get to Government and not be held accountable. The National Independent Party’s first draft manifesto, due to be published the middle of this month, reflects all the email questionnaires and discussions the group has had in its meetings these last twelve months. It reaches into aspects regarding, health, justice, education as well as economic and European issues. Indeed such has been the interest in the groups reform strategies, branches have been steadily appearing right across the country to contest the next round of elections; all co-ordinated from its first constituency office in Limerick City. John adds; “the national community is certainly getting stronger and the party has a superb website and face book presence which can now be captured on app. Here you will find news and views and discussion of what’s occurring daily in the media and of course our party’s policies to deal with the mortgage crisis, the national deficit and developing sustainable employment. But as with all things, we can’t do this without good people coming on board willing to help and spread the message. We all have an opportunity right now to make a real difference to the future of our children and of course right the wrongs of recent years; give me a call if you are determined to see that change” John J Smyth, Co.
