This Graduate School of Business is a multipurpose school of Excellence designed to provide centrally coordinated interdisciplinary post graduate Degrees and Professional prgrammes in Business and Public Administration with indepth academic and professional content and practical orientation. Thus we are committed to ensuring that our academic programmes designed for learning through research, teaching as well as engagement with business and community through disciplinary, multidisciplinary and collaborative education add value to our graduates. Our interdisciplinary Research Approach (IRA) is equally designed to provide effective and sustainable solutions to emerging issues and challenges in management and governance in both private and public sectors of the national and global economies. Senior officers/executives in both public and private sectors of the economy are facilitated and enabled to maintain as well as improve and broaden their management and professional knowledge and skill thereby enhancing their career prospects. The course is run with strong Faculty and cutting age facilities for management education and training, research and consultancy service which enable us produce graduate with interdisciplinary mind set, decision making problem solving capabilities to assume management level leadership positions in both the private and public sectors as well as capability to create successful business. ADMISSION FOR 2013/2014 ACADEMIC YEAR Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes offered by NAU/UNIZIK Business School, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, for the 2013/2014 academic year. 1.1 DEGREE PROGRAMMES (i) Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Degree with options in a. Accountancy b. Banking & Finance c. Cooperative Economics & Management d. Management e. Human Resources Management f. Insurance & Risk Management g. Marketing h. International Business (ii) Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) Degree 1.2 PROFESSIONAL POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD) PROGRAMMES (i) Professional PGD in Accounting (ii) Professional PGD in Management (iii) Professional PGD in Banking and Finance (iv) Professional PGD in Marketing (v) Professional PGD in Cooperative Economics and Management (vi) Professional PGD in Public Sector Management 2.0 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: 2.1 The following may apply for admission into the EMBA and EMPA Degree programmes. 2.1.1 Bachelors degree from any approved University with a minimum of second class lower division. 2.1.2 Holders of the HND and/or professional qualification in any of the disciplines in the social, management sciences/administration and allied areas. 2.1.3 Candidates with the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in any discipline in the social, management sciences etc could also be considered. 2.1.4 All candidates for admission must, in addition, have had a minimum of one year supervisory (preferably, managerial) level work experience in the private or public sector and/or at least two years self employment experience. Candidates with extensive managerial experience in the public or private sector will be considered on their own merit. 2.2.0 REQUIREMENTS FOR PROFESSIONAL POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES 2.2.1 Candidates for the Professional Post Graduate Diploma are required to hold relevant University degrees, Advanced Diploma, HND/HNC or appropriate professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, ACIS, ACWA. ACMA, ANAN and AIA, ACEA, AIB or equivalent qualifications. Possession of ten to fifteen years administrative/managerial experience is an added advantage. 3.1 DURATION OF PROGRAMME All programmes of the NAU/UNIZIK Business School are offered on Friday evenings and Saturdays to suit the convenience of busy executives. The duration for the programmes is as follows: • EMBA and EMPA Programmes: - 4 Semesters • Professional Post Graduate Diploma Programmes: - 2 Semesters 3.2 METHOD OF APPLICATION 3.2.1 (i) Application forms for EMBA, EMPA and PGD should be completed on-line by login onto my.unizik.edu.ng/ubs on payment of N20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Naira) at any of the banks in Unizik campus as application fee. (ii) Print a copy of the completed form. (iii) Download and print the transcript form. The transcript form should be sent to the candidate’s previous institution for his/her academic transcript. Student are to ensure that the transcript form is attached to the transcript (iv) Download and print three (3) copies of the referee’s report forms for your referee to complete Copy of the completed form, referee’s reports and certificates including O’level certificates should be forwarded to the Director, NAU/UNIZIK Business School, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, PMB 5025, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria not later than 30th November 2013.
