NO EYES “Look Daddy, No hands! A young boy shouted as he was learning how to ride a bike. He was confident to show his dad new tricks. When he raised his hands and continued to move forward, he was satisfied when he saw his dad clapping. The boy was encouraged. He wanted to do more, this time, a harder trick. “Look Daddy, No eyes” The boy closed his eyes and continued to pedal faster. His dad tried to catch him but it’s too late. All that was heard in the room was a loud cry. The boy bumped and fell down because he lacked vision. Do you have vision? Vision is the act or power of seeing. How many of us see ourselves following God faithfully? Do we take the time and effort to visualize ourselves doing something significant for our family, friends and country? Or do we just let the days pass by hoping that things will be better in the future? According to Pastor Cesar Castillanos, there is Power in Vision. Especially when we begin our walk with Jesus, a certain kind of blindness is removed from our minds, hearts and eyes. God gives us a new view of life according to how He sees life. He says, “Creation originated in God’s vision and caused all things to be set in motion including His masterpiece, man.” The vision is God’s idea revealed to man in such a way that he can put it into action. God is the source of the vision and we are the receiver of His vision. In order for us to see clearly, God sent His Son to model the life that He wants us to live, “to love God and love people”. If we will place our shoes in the story of the boy and the Daddy was God, He will not let us close our eyes. For God knew that when we close our eyes, we might bump and fall because of life’s problems, uncertainties and defeat. So every time we intend to close our eyes and veer away from God’s vision, I can hear God, as the Daddy will say, “Open your eyes my child”.
