NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN THE KINGDOM Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. Ephesians 5:4 John was found dead in an apartment. He had committed suicide. After the investigations of his death was made, it was discovered that his friend had jokingly called him a bastard; John was the result of his mother former promiscuous life style and that has been a constant challenge to his life. It was during the time he was playing with his friend that his friend jokingly called him a bastard and so he went and killed himself because he hates hearing that. In a country where people do not have the freedom of speech, that friend would be persecuted. Though most country had adopted freedom of speech but in Christianity, there is no freedom of speech. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Col. 4:6 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Mt. 12:36-37 You are not free to say anything even when such thing is a reality, before you say anything, first ask yourself, is it a truth? Is coarse, foolish and filthy? The truth is, some truths are filthy, coarse and unedifying and when a truth is these, don’t say it. Though John was a bastard, it was not necessary calling him that. It was by word that the world was created and it’s by words that people’s world would be destroyed. Never say words that unedifying to any man even if such word is the truth. Don’t be quick to talk. Before you say a word, makes sure it’s honest and edifying. Never be carried away in jest, always remember in God’s kingdom we are not free to speak any how. Lord set a watch upon my lips; my tongue controlled today. Help me bridle my mouth and guild all I say. Amen.
