NO ONE HAS TARGETED YOU-POLICE REASSURES TEACHERS IN KRACHI NCHUMURU The Volta regional police Commander ACP Fred Agyepong-Asare stated emphatically yesterday Wednesday 14th August, 2013 in a press conference held in Ho that teachers in communities in the three Krachie districts should not feel being haunted. This was in response to a press conference held earlier by GNAT and GES saying teachers in Krachie East, Krachie West and Krachie Ntsumuru districts in the Volta region intend embarking on a strike action. According to the teachers they sense serial killing since the late Marshal was the second teacher who died in a similar situation. Earlier this month, Marshal Manasseh, was reported missing, a situation which forced his colleague teachers in the Krachi Nchumuru to wear red arm bands and declare an indefinite strike. But after several days of searching, his lifeless, decomposed body was discovered floating on a river close to the town. George Achiba, Regional Vice Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers said they suspect foul play because the deceased once fled the town after his life was threatened – but he later returned to the area. Spt Kwame Nkrumah Akomea said the Police are holding the three men on suspicion of murder while investigations go on. Although the family of the deceased had insisted the body should be given to them for a quick burial, the Police said the body would be given to them after autopsy because of the suspicion of foul play. The pathologist came out with findings that the man was drowned but the police still plead with the general public to feed them with any information about the death contrary to the report from the expert. He told the teachers to be rest assured since investigations are still ongoing for the two deaths.
