NO POLITICAL PARTY SHALL BE ALLOWED TO SCRAP ARTICLE 370 : SHABIRCONGRESS BEING SECULAR IS THE ONLY FORCE WHICH CAN RESIST BJP : MUKUL WASNIKShabir Ahmed Khan Former Minister and MLA Rajouri today said that No political party shall be allowed to scrap Article 370 and the congress veteran Mukul Wasnik Former Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and Gen. Secy AICC, who visited Keri today along with the Shabir Ali Former Minister and presently MLA and Abdul Majeed Wani Minister for PWD(R&B) to accelerate the campaign for the ongoing elections said Congress is the only party which could stop the BJP’s rise in the state and his party with the support of the people would defeat the designs to dilute the distinct identity of the state.Addressing a public meeting at keri in Doongi Block of Rajouri constituency he said that Congress is all set to win good no. of seats in the Assembly Elections and is ready to form Govt. Wasnik said that Congress is secular and pro-people party which remained in power for 10 years and launcheda no. of people friendly schemes for the welfare of public at the centre. He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir must give a befitting reply to any attempts at communalizing the situation eroding thestates authority or diluting the constitutional position.Shabir Ali said that it is unfortunate that the Parliamentary elections in many areas were driven by a communal polarization and it would be necessary to reverse this trend in the ongoing Assembly elections, for building a modern welfare state. He reiterated that there are strong indicators that the Congress is headed for victory in the Assembly elections as Jb. Ghulam Nabi Azad played a role of mentor during his tenure as Chief Minister and Union Minister.While speaking on the occasion Abdul Majeed Wani said that Shabir Khan always remained in touch with the public and their issues. He was the only Minister who used to fight for construction of New roads and building in his constituency, which is the reason Rajouri was recorded among Top seven Constituencies of the state. Wani reiterated that roads are the life lines of the area and the indicatorsof development. No doubt the govt. with liberal funding from Centre has tried a lot to make all roadsas all-weather roads and made tis state to achieve 62 % of road connectivity where in figures establishes 72 % of road connectivity in Rajouri Constituency.Khan lambasted BJP and PDP for playing complimentary and supplementary to each other in polarizing the electoral battle with common objective of weakening secular forces and said Congress will foil all these attempts at the strength of people’s unflinching faith in Jammu and Kashmir’s glorious pluralistic values. Talking over Article 370 khan said that the special status grantedby the Constitution to the J&K state was a historical necessity in view of the circumstances and realties of the situation that led to the partition of the country post-independence nation building efforts. Scrapping Article 370 is impossible and no political party shall be allowed to do so. Khan said that the reactionary tendencies of these two parties which they unleash to incite passions in one region with sinister design of generating reaction in another andvice versa shall be dashed on ground. He said the Congress party would continue to provide an inclusive platform for all regions and communities of the state for opportunities of growth.Khan said that Vote in favour of Congress party shall be vote for development. He announced that Congress shall not left any stone unturned which will come in the way of development of the state. Khan maintained we have to continue with our mass contact program and organizational activities to seek a decisive mandate from the people for a strong and accountable government and added thatthe people must get a dependable alternative which can address their problems, curb corruption, ensure upholding of human rights and offers a new world to youth.Others who spoke on the occasion were Sain Abdul Rashid, Raj Kumar Sarpanch, Yashpal Sharma Sarpanch Sasalkote, Sarfaraz Khan Sarpanch, Iftiqar Dar, Subhash Sharma, Zaheer Chowdhary, Iftiqar Ahmed ,Susheel Sharma, Haji Faroq, Pushpinder Gupta, Jagdish Raj, Captain Harmeet Sarpanch Sawni and other local leaders.
