NO SPOILERS. I saw Guardians of the Galaxy tonight with Andi Szilagyi, Tony Morigi, and Corey Lynn Atencio. Heres my review: 1. This is on par with Ghostbusters heights of funny for long stretches. Seriously. No exaggeration. 2. This is the best Marvel film yet. Its better than Avengers, Thor: Dark World, or Captain America: Winter Soldier. 3. It goes ridiculously deep into the crazy lunatic Marvel comics celestial cosmology but is 100% accessible and easy to follow. They manage to explain the film version of some things as simply and as elegantly as Obi-Wan and Yoda explained the Force in Star Wars and Empire. 4. Some early reviewers (including actual professional reviewers, which seemed crazy to me at first) have been comparing this openly to Star Wars: A New Hope & Empire, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Its not an exaggeration. If you took the best sorts of tone, emotion, and feel from A New Hope and Empire and Raiders, added in the emotional range of Pixars Up, and then somehow still managed to fit in Ghostbusters, well, thats Guardians of the Galaxy. The script is so ridiculously efficient and fast. Oh, and then add in stuff like the space battles from Jedis ending times five or so, and yeah. I have no idea how they fit it all, but damn if doesnt work, and incredibly well.
