NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center NHC continues to monitor two - TopicsExpress

NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center NHC continues to monitor two areas of disturbed weather. One is an area of low pressure located over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. The associated showers and thunderstorms have diminished some today, and the USAF Hurricane Hunter aircraft that was scheduled to investigate the low this afternoon has been cancelled. Conditions still appear to be somewhat conducive for the formation of tropical depression during the next day or two as it moves toward the west-northwest and northwest. It could spread locally heavy rains over portions of eastern and southern Mexico during the next few days. The other is a trough of low pressue midway between the Bahamas and Bermuda. An area of low pressure is forecast to form and it could acquire some subtropical characteristics as it moves generally toward the northeast.
