NORTH EAST REPTILE RESCUE To all our loyal supporters who have followed us for the past few years. As you will be aware we are holding a reptile awarness and fundraising day at Pets At Home in Darlington next saturday. We also are planning further events for the rest of the year. Hopefuly these events will help us gain much needed support and allow us to secure new homes for many of the animals that we are finding it hard to rehome at the present. The ratio of animals being given in to the rescue compared to the animals we rehome is currently 9 to 1. This leaves us in the difficult position of constantly turning down others from coming to us due to lack of space and resources. We are asking however today if anybody would like to donate to our much depleted funds to help us carry on with our work. We have a couple of big vets bills to pay as well as our ongoing costs of food, supplements, equipment, electric etc. With the length of time most of the residents are staying with us does mean more of a financial strain on our funds. We dot not receive goverment or similar funding and most of our funds come directly from ourselves apart from the occasional spare vivarium we sell and the little we recieve in donations. Over the last month the trustess of the rescue have clocked up a staggering 1500+ miles picking up rescues and travelling to the vets in the next town with none or very little contribution towards fuel costs from the people who call us up for help to take in and care for these animals You can donate via the paypal buttons on the website or donate directly via paypal to [email protected] We can also accept cheques and postal orders made out to North East Reptile Rescue.
