Dont stay away due to construction...it is progress and we are extremely proud to get the BEAUTIFICATION/new sidewalks, lamp post, trash cans, benches, SPLASH PAD AND MUCH MORE UNDERWAY..e on down and enjoy the progress. IN PROGRESS NOW… CITY OF VIDALIA Transportation Enhancement grant awarded in 2006, known as an ISTEA GRANT is finally coming to fruition on the North side of downtown…the upcoming ISTEA project will connect our historic district and provide pedestrian friendly access from the North to the South sides. The project will include a new city park with additional parking for those shopping or dining in the area, sidewalks, lighting and beautification on the north side of downtown. City Manager Bill Torrance said this project will mirror what was accomplished in 2002 on the south side of town and will enhance the historic district of Vidalia.
